Cynthia Howells joined Ivy Menchel’s practice as a Client Relationship Manager in January 2020. She earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and brings 20 years of experience in corporate banking and financial analysis to the practice. Cynthia currently leads operations management which tracks all aspects of financial planning, including client service projects, investment processing; preparing portfolio reviews, proposals, and presentations; and planning client events. She will be a key player in continuing to expand our high level of client service.
Prior to joining Ivy Menchel's practice, Cynthia was a Director in the Global Infrastructure and Project Finance Group at Fitch Ratings, a bond rating agency, where she evaluated fossil and renewable energy projects for investors. She spent the bulk of her career as a Vice President in the Corporate Client Management Division at BNY Mellon. As a banker, Cynthia managed a billion-dollar loan portfolio of electric and oil & gas clients and marketed additional banking services to clients. She started her career as a Corporate Credit Analyst at Bank of New York.
Cynthia earned her BA in English Literature at Columbia College, and an MA in Finance and Banking at the School of International and Public Affairs, both at Columbia University in New York.
In her spare time, Cynthia volunteers at Bottomless Closet, a non-profit that provides career counseling and professional clothing to women in need and leads the non-profit’s financial workshops on investing. She enjoys yoga and meditation, logging steps in Riverside Park, reading as much fiction as she can, and biking on Cape Cod. She lives in New York City with her husband and two teenage children.
